The Coaches

Allen Krueger enters his 9th summer season in 2011 with the DGF Post 397 American Legion Baseball progam. Coach Krueger has brought a love for American Legion Baseball to the players in DGF through a respect for the game, dedication and discipline.

As an American Legion Baseball player, Coach Krueger enjoyed every aspect of the summer sport. "Some of my best memories of athletics were on the baseball field in the summer. We had coaches who taught us 'how to play' and respect the game. There's certainly something special about a baseball team that shares a desire to play together, not for themselves, and has a chemistry that finds different ways to win games."

Coach Krueger is a 1993 graduate of Moorhead State University with a B.S. degree in Health & Physical Education & Coaching. He spent 7 years in public education as a teacher & coach before becoming a corporate trainer. He currently works as the marketing director for High Point Networks based in West Fargo.

He resides in Dilworth with his wife Donna, daughter Kendall and son Luke. He enjoys spending time playing with his kids, working on web design, being a High School basketball official and watching sports.

Michael Hanson enters his 7th season as an assistant coach. Coach Hanson brings a great deal of dedication to coaching in the DGF Post 397 program, a program in which he was a standout player from 2002-04.

Coach Hanson works specifically with the pitching staff and coaches first base. He continued his playing career as a pitcher for Minnesota State Community and Technical College (MSCTC-Fergus Falls) for two years after high school.

"Coach Hanson sees the game as a great opportunity for kids to work hard and become a team player. He doesn't believe in individual things, he wants our guys to recognize the importance of contributing to the team."

Coach Hanson resides in Moorhead, MN and is employed by Homemakers Villa of Moorhead. He's the best fisherman on staff. He enjoys the outdoors and football.

Mike Bruns returns for his second season with the DGF Legion program. Coach Bruns, an Evansville, MN native, will work with the program's younger players on our Junior Legion team. His past experience as a Babe Ruth coach and his years playing Amatuer Baseball will greatly benefit the programs depth of players.

"Coach Bruns is a 'baseball guy' who has an enthusiasm and appreciation for the game of baseball. He will be a good fit in our program and give our younger players the attention they deserve as they develop their skills."

Coach Bruns has been a starting pitcher for the Brandon-Evansville Bluedogs amatuer team and participated in the Southwest Minnesota State University program.

Coach Bruns lives in Fargo and is the purchasing manager for Bytespeed in Moorhead. He is a High School football and basketball official. He enjoys hunting, fishing and all types of sports.
